Dental Sealants

Brushing and flossing regularly is important to keep your teeth clean and healthy. Unfortunately, the back teeth, particularly the molars, have deep pits and fissures that collect food particles and grow bacteria.

Dental sealants prevent food particles and bacteria from occupying this space. By sealing out food and bacteria from these spaces with a thin, resin/composite coating, your teeth get an extra line of defense against decay.

Dental sealants are usually recommended for children once they get their permanent first and second molars. Adults who do not have decay or fillings can also benefit from this extra line of defense against bacteria and decay.
